Traits
Unnatural Sand Colors (Rare)
The Unnatural Sand Color trait includes metallic and glowing colors. This trait can either cover the entirety of the sand, or it can be limited to markings or small areas on a Waterdog! Metallic sand can be any color.
Highly saturated colors no longer fall under this trait, instead any color/marking that is not metallic or glowing falls under Standard Sand!

Snow (Rare)
Instead of sand, a waterdog has snow in its place.
This trait can be paired with sand as well and does not need to take up its entirety.
Snow that takes the place of sand must have some visual indication of being snow (texture, sparkles in the snow, rounder shapes/snow sheet, etc.)
Snow is by default white but can be dyed. Dyed snow must ressemble dye in snow and cannot have sharp edges and should be blended in some way. Dyed snow must also have a visual indication that's not sand. Additionally, dye is treated as markings and to make it color changing you would need color changing sand.
Please see the section below for a full visual guide.
NOTE: This trait is specifically for designs with the intent of having snow. You DO NOT need this trait for just white sand
[Image ID/Transcript: [6 different examples of snow on waterdogs with different aspects of the trait highlighted. Some of the details are smaller and might need zooming in]
Snow on a waterdog’s back should resemble snow by being either rounder like snow, having texture, or snow sparkles.
When a large section or all of the dog’s sand is snow, it is required that there’s some visual indication it’s snow not sand. This can be through snow sparkles (left), texture (right), or distinct snowy shapes (bottom left).
Snow can be dyed, however, like liquid dye in snow, the edges cannot be sharp and must be blended in some way, again to distinguish from sand patterns. Dyed snow must also maintain some indication it’s snowed Dyed snow counts as markings, not accessories, and would need color changing if you wanted different variants of dye colors or dyed areas/markings

Bioluminescent Water (Rare)
Special plankton in a Waterdog’s water that makes it glow!
The spots that glow are bright in color and be certain sections/spots if you wish (as long as it is not replicating split-water). The glow can be turned on/off.
Rainbow Water (Rare)
Water that is Rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Pink). Some color palletes may count as rainbow when blended. Green must always be included for it to count as Rainbow.
Split Water (Rare)
Water colors and/or shapes that abruptly change the color of the normal water gradient colors! This can often be seen as sections of the water having completely different colors or distinct shapes in the water.
- Split water can be paired with color-changing water! This allows the split water to “move” and “change shape” with different color options.
Split water can come in all variants, whether it's a half-and-half type (example 1,) or something more like like specific shapes (example 2,) or "markings" in the water (example 3.)

Ice (Rare)
Ice that covers the water portions of a Waterdog! The ice can cover the whole area of water on a WD, OR just be present in patches. Ice must have an obvious “sheen” over the design AND/OR has cracks.
Ice can be any water color/split as long as the applicable traits are bought as well. Ice must be a lighter hue compared to the water unless you buy the Split Water trait to have it be a different color all together.
Waterdog's cannot have ice on their sand without the 'Shaped Sand (Ice)' Legendary Trait.

Colored Sclera (Rare)
The sclera of the eye is a lighter or more saturated color than white or the iris color. Dark/black colored scleras are also considered to be under this trait.

Shaped Irises (Rare)
When the colored part of the eye (the iris) is shaped differently than just a normal circle.
NOTE: Shaped PUPILS (the black part of the eye) are not considered a trait and is considered stylistic.
Glowing Eyes (Rare)
Glowing eyes can be stylized, but cannot appear too much like mist coming from the eyes.
Eyes glow permanently, and do not have to include a glow trail.
Blank Eyes (Rare)
Eyes that have no pupils or irises and consist only of one color or gradient. Waterdogs with blank eyes DO NOT have other eye traits (eye color or colored scleras).
Water Ears (Rare)
Ears that are made out of water instead of sand.
With water ears, the inner ear can either be made of sand or water, whereas normal sand ears require the inner ear to be made of water.
Water ears can have portions of the ear still remain as sand cut-out designs.
Waterdog's cannot have ice on their sand without the 'Shaped Sand (Ice)' Legendary Trait.

Ear Tufts - Dog (Rare)
Distinct tufts of fur at the top of a Waterdog’s ears. These tufts can be made out of water or sand.
Some stylistic reference art may fall under ear tufts and vise-versa. Example of tufts that would not be considered as the trait since it is stylistic: (https://waterdogworld.com/character/MYO-3238)

Ear fins (Rare)
Ears that are in the shape of fins.
- These ear fins do not require water to be in the inner ear, but they can if you choose to make them out of water.
- More than one set of ear fins would require the multi-ear trait.
- Fins can be stylistic & take on any sort of natural/fantastical fin shape as long as they can still be clearly seen as fins.

Rounded Ears (Rare)
Ears that are completely rounded, similar to a bear or big cat.
