Costume Conundrum

A crisp fall afternoon cast a beautiful orange sky though Fizzy’s bedroom window, his closet door open; a large white sheet lay on the floor while a large brown trunk rustles and shifts as audible indecisiveness fills the room.

“Angel? No. A Witch! Hmmm nah… Maybe an alien! Pew Pew Pew!” A small plastic alien blaster clunks to the floor in a pile filled with various hats, charms, necklaces, capes and so on. “No, I can’t do that for a 4th time in a row.”

Fizzy sighed, sprawling fully out on the now very cluttered floor he does a very big stretch before a frown is painted across his maw. His eyes pan across the room, years of costumes and accessories surround him carelessly. Fizzy didn’t want to do a costume that he had done years previous as well, that's usually what he would end up doing. His costume ideas tended to be a little too ambitious and once he would realize that it was a bit out of his wheelhouse he would fall back on costumes that worked out previously.

A small rapping at his front door caused one of his ears to perk up and turn towards the noise. A cute, small voice shouts from the other side.

“Fizzy! Fizzy! Can I come in? It’s Boo!” Fizzy’s ear flops back down and he sighed.

“Yeah, it’s open, come on in.” He said sullenly.

Boo pushed her way through the front door, closing behind her with a light click. Her head tilted as she was the large mess with Fizzy sprawled out in the epicenter. Carefully moving through the clothes and toys she eventually reached the sad waterdog and tapped him gently on the head three times. 

“Hey, what's wrong? And, what happened to your room? It looks like a costume shop exploded here.” She stated as she accidentally stepped on the alien blaster toy causing it to make several sci fi noises.

Fizzy’s eyes panned up with his small friend before panning back down to the floor. 

“I just…” Fizzy shifted himself up and sat normally. “...I can’t figure out what I want my costume to be this year. I just keep ending up doing the same one over and over.” He picked up the toy blaster and put it into the trunk. “I’ve been an alien for the past 4 years. I want to do something new and fresh to me that I haven’t done before. Fizzy slowly picked up and folded the different costumes and placed them into the empty trunk as Boo watched on. 

Boo looked at each costume as it was placed into the trunk. “I like aliens! It wouldn’t be bad if you did that one again!” She said happily trying to cheer her friend up. 

Fizzy put the large white sheet back onto the top of the chest, returning back to the way it was before he had opened it. Boo as next to the chest, the alien blaster by her front paws as she had snuck it out. Fizzy took the sheet off and put it on his back as he opened the truck back up to grab Boo his alien antenna headband and silver cape, giving it to the ghostly waterdog. 

“Ghostly?” Fizzy thought to himself. His head jolted to the sheet on his back as a large smile appeared on his face. “Ghost!” Fizzy exclaimed.

“Uhh yeah? I am, this isn’t anything new Fiz-” Boo’s eyes lit up as she realized the same thing that Fizzy had. They hopped around in circles joyously before getting to action. After about thirty minutes the two excitedly posed in the mirror; Boo, a spooky little alien wearing the silver cape and antenna headband while brandishing the toy blaster. While Fizzy with a white sheet covering his body, a small bow tying the sheet into a know on his heat, his costume was perfect as Fizzy would be his friend, Boo.
