Latte’s loneliness

Gentle sun light rolls over the valley as Latte awakes to the news of Marina and Roxanne’s engagement news. From what Latte understands from the word out the happy couple proposed to each other at the same time. Latte is over the moon and filled with joy for them both! She is very much looking forward to the wedding and is excited to see the rings when she gets around to catching up with the couple. 

All of the happiness Latte feels for Marina and Roxanne is clouded, with Latte’s own feelings of loneliness - she her self had wanted to get married by now but has been unfortunately with scoring a date with anyone to the point she has all but given up. She lets out a sad sigh as she brushed off the fine china and starts setting up the table for a small gathering of Latte’s own closest friends tonight - the gathering was pre-arranged but now it’ll be a double celebration of sorts. Latte tries to keep positive and pushes her own feelings of loneliness aside as she carries on setting up for her gathering. It won’t be long now until everyone starts arriving and there’s still a lot of stuff to be done aside from setting up the table; drinks need to be refrigerated, food needs to be prepared, snacks need to be ready to go for the cozy chill bit after the main dinner. Spinning at the thought of how much there was to do, Latte decides to take a sit down and get a glass of water. Perhaps she is tried from working soo hard to set up her party or perhaps she is over ran with emotions.

After a little rest, and a coffee, Latte gets back to work setting finishing getting everything ready for tonight’s party. She has had the time to settle her thoughts and clear her head - but she does still fell like she’s missing out on having a partner herself. But the doesn’t mean she can’t still be happy for the newly engaged couple and even if the party isn’t for them, Latte is happy to think of it as a double celebration. And perhaps, not today maybe not even this week, but perhaps Latte could start trying to hang out with different friendship groups and maybe a relationship of sorts could blossom from there or perhaps that is wishful thinking.

The dining of the timer summons Latte to the oven to get out the fresh cookies baked ready for much later on in the evening. Next she has pastries to prepare and figuring out the main food, although at the current rate a takeaway is definitely an option. Latte has always preferential making desserts and sweet food over savoury dinners and a takeaway would take the time pressure off. Letting put a sigh, latte goes though the collection of old magazines and leaflets to retrieve the takeaway menus, she stacks them carefully on the coffee table and returns back to the kitchen to make pastries and over sweet treats so the she can at least eat her comfort foods and try to keep positive.
