The cat-ification
Rex’s eyes fluttered open, something felt… weird.
“Ralph, buster, you guys okay?” Rex queried.
“What- What did the potion do?”, Buster frowned, “And why are my paws so… cat-y”
Peabody stopped in his tracks, turned to face the three of them and sighed
“You Idiots just drank a cat potion, you have turned yourself into a cat. Also, while we are on the subject, “Cat-y” is not a real word!”
“Cat potion?!” Ralph shot up “Why didn’t you try to stop us?”
“I TOLD you not to drink that? Why does nobody ever listen to me?!” Peabody was rushing around the shop, flinging draws and cabinets open, rummaging through them and then running off again. After what felt like hours he stops dead in his tracks. Carefully unlocking a small ornate wooden box, he seems to calm down. He pulls out several bunches of herbs and vials of oil, unscrewing the lids and placing them down on his counter. Peabody then began chucking bits and pieces into a small cauldron he had pulled out from under the counter earlier: a half chewed slipper, a tennis ball and a handful of dog treats along with some herbs and a putrid smelling liquid. “There,” Said Peabody, “The antidote should be ready for you in a few days, just… don’t do anything stupid until then…”
Ralph stood up from where he had been lying on the floor, “Well, no point hanging around then, we have things to do, dogs to scare… mice to catch…” and with that the boys headed out. It did not take long before they decided to check out these new cat-abilities, it had not been five minutes since leaving peabody's shop and Buster was already calling for help.
“Look I have already said I am sorry! How was I supposed to know that we wouldn’t be able to get down!” Rex snapped at his brother.
“You should have thought that through before you climbed all the way up here- Now we will never get down!”
Thankfully, it was at that moment that malia spotted them while on her morning stroll,
“Wait.. Rex? Ralph? Buster? Is that you? Well, it certainly looks like you but you're a… cat?”
“Malia, Please help us! If you can get us down from here we will tell you everything-”
Malia worked her way over to them. By instructing them on where to put each paw she managed to help them down.
“Now boys, I think you owe me an explanation…”
Malia sat down and listened as the three-headed dog recounted their adventures. Listening to every word she sat in a stunned silence.
“You boys really need to think before you act… If I were you I would stay low and wait for Peabody to call you back to his shop. I don’t want you getting stuck up another tree or trapped in a tiny cave, I mean, goodness knows what kind of trouble you could find yourselves in…”
The cerberus thanked Malia again for rescuing them. Promising they would stay out of trouble, the boys got up to leave. Whether they will keep that promise is another matter…
