WHAT IS A SELF-BREED SLOT?

A self-breed slot allows you to breed two waterdogs together without the need for a monthly mod-made breeding batch. You can either own both of the designs being bred OR use one of your own designs AND one other persons. You must have ownership of at least a single design in the self breed. The outcome child will be a combination of the design/traits from both parents. Unlike the monthly breedings, you are only allowed to create ONE design per self-breed slot, much like a MYO.

** If one of the WDs you are self-breeding does not belong to you, you MUST include some sort of proof that you have permission to self-breed the character. This can be included in the form of a sta.sh link screenshot, toyhouse thread, discord screenshot conversation, etc.

Self Breed Slots can be purchased under the “MYOs” tab in the Sand Shop, won/bought during events, OR on other special occasions.

 Cat and Big Cat Self Breed Slots can currently only be obtained through events and other special occasions. They CANNOT be bought in the Sand Shop. They act the same as a normal Self Breed slot.

  NEW 10/26/2023: You are only allowed to breed a CAT and DOG together by applying a Mixed Species Voucher ONTO a self-breed slot. (These can be obtained during events and other special occasions as well)

OTHER SELF-BREED SLOT RULES/NOTES

There is no cooldown for how many self-breed slots you can buy/use in a given timeframe.

Other users are allowed to design you self-breed for you for free/as a gift/for a trade/etc. They CANNOT design the self-breed for you for any sort of monetary (USD, etc) value. However, you can ‘commission’ a user for a design with SD and/or items/art.

Additional items can be added onto a self-breed during creation for traits that neither parents have. The following items below may be added on during initial self-breeding design creation:

Sand & Water Color Change Items
Legendary/Rare Treats + Sand Shop Tickets
Big Cat/Little Cat Potions
** (can be added on to make a dog into a cat during approval or vise versa with a Puppy Potion)

Users cannot self breed their own waterdogs together to ‘give’ the outcome to another person as a ‘gift’. The design must be gifted/traded in the normal appropriate manner after the design is approved.

If you wish for your self-breed to have multiform, you must obtain and use a Multiform Rune on the self breed to give it to them. Multiform CANNOT pass within a self-breed breeding.

A SB design still must look representative of both parents in some way/shape/form. We allow leway as we understand not all designs are in-canon to your personal lore, however, designs may be denied if both parents cannot easily be explained in the final submission. (The child outcome from the breeding must be representative of both parents. However, the child cannot be a “Clone” of one the parents. They must be unique in their own nature.)

A self-breed uses up BOTH of the parents limited breeding slots (One Breeding = One Slot Used). All water dogs/cats can breed up to a maximum of THREE times. (The number of slots your waterdog/cat has to breed can be found on their masterlist page under “Stats” near the bottom.

A waterdog that was made with a SB slot cannot be sold OR vouched for money UNLESS they are appraised 

You are able to use ANY traits that EITHER parents have. You could use ALL of the traits that both parents have combined, OR just traits from a single parent. As long as the child is representative of both parents designs, it is allowed.

The only exception to this is MULTIFORM, which CANNOT pass in a self-breed. However, edits on a parent’s multiform-form are allowed to be used on the child. Just not multiform itself. There is no ‘Limit’ to how many traits a self-breed can have as long as they do not conflict.

How Do Traits Pass?

Below is a hypothetical trait list for a fake breeding batch:

HOW TO USE A SELF-BREEDING SLOT

Navigate to your inventory. The slot itself will be found under the “MYOs” items. Click on the "Self-Breeding Slot".

Check the box beside the purchase log and then click on the "Use slot" box below.

Click "Open" and your self-breeding slot will be created! You can find your slot under "User" on the left side of your profile (it will show up under MYO slots). 

Click on the slot you want to use and click "Submit MYO design" on the left side.

Click "Create request" and fill in all of the necessary information:

Click "Submit Request" ! And you've now finished and submitted your design!

Please note that you will need to save each section of your request to submit it. (This means scrolling down and clicking save for add-ons, even if you do not have anything to add in those sections.)

It is required that you attach the masterlist link to each of the parents of your self-breed in the "Comments" section of your request. If you do not submit the parents masterlist links, your request will be denied.

A moderator will go through and approve or deny your self-breed design. If your self-breeding design is denied, check the moderator comments to see how you can fix it. Once you've revised the design with the fixes, you can go ahead and resubmit it! Don't worry, your slot won't be used up if you submit a design that is denied and needs to be changed!

Additional note: Designs ARE allowed to be relatively flexible when making the self-breed outcome. The colors/edit aspects of the design still need to be a combination of the parents in SOME way at least, even if the breeding is ‘not canon’ / ‘is a one-off’ for your own personal lore.
