The Future of Waterdogs

Hello everyone, I’ve got some big news to share with you all today. It’s been a long time coming, and this decision was not easy to make, but it’s about time, I think.

I will be stepping down from owning Waterdogs beginning February 1st.

I will be passing down ownership to Chewtoys. I have full confidence that Chewy will bring great things to the group and species; I already know that there’s some really neat plans in the works, and I’m very excited for you all! I please ask that you all give Chewy a warm welcome; this is not an easy position to step into by any means, but I don’t think I could have chosen better.

Waterdogs have been such a huge part of my life. It’s very scary for me, leaving now. I started this little species back in 2014 and absolutely didn’t expect it to grow to even a fraction of what it is now. The group, the species, the community — would be nothing without all of you and your support. We’ve created something amazing together and I’m so happy that I could help curate this experience with you all. It’s been ten years, and when I started, I was only fourteen. It’s been a long ride, and lots of lessons were learned over the years. I’ve made plenty of mistakes, and I’m thankful to have learned from them. I’ve met so many amazing people through this group. But it is time for me to move on.

For a while I did think that I could work on Waterdogs forever, but as I’ve gotten older and learned and changed, I realized that just because I love the species, it doesn’t mean I’m still the right fit for ownership. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but I’m happy that I did. I know that Chewy has the absolute best intentions for the group, and has the willpower, drive, and passion that I have lost over the last ten years.

This won’t be the last you’ll see of me, I’m sure! I’m planning to stick around in the discord and pop in from time to time to see how things are doing around here. Waterdogs are still a creation I cherish incredibly much. You won’t get rid of me that easily!

Thank you all so much for the last decade. This has been my little chunk of stability for a huge portion of my life; I cannot thank you all enough. It’s been a rollercoaster of a time, and I hope to close out this last chapter on a high note. Thank you for reading.
