WELCOME TO THE 2023 WATERDOG EASTER EGG HUNT!

Welcome back everyone to our annual Easter Egg hunt!

This year will run very similar to last year with a new feature for everyone including those who stress during the hunt! Say goodbye to stress friends! For this year we will be hosting an Easter basket alongside of the egg hunt! This Easter egg basket will be active when the hunt is on and will be a very short-run dailies prize for everyone to get a gift from the Easter Bunny! Even those who are actively participating in the egg hunt itself can grab an egg from the basket!

Where do you find the Egg basket? Look no further than the main home page! There should be a big basket with quick links for the event and your daily prize waiting for you that launches at 5:00PM CST!

As for prizes this year just like the year prior, eggs will range from new designs, Myo slots, Sand dollars, and old friends being reintroduced!

Each Egg will be hiding on easily accessible pages and even masterlist entries onsite! some are in harder-to-find spots aswell, anywhere is a possible hiding place as long as it's on the waterdog world website!

As a disclaimer for the hunt to come, eggs will be hiding only on the website, Nowhere else!

How claims work will be explained below!

In order to claim your newfound prize, click on the egg and be the first one to comment on the egg’s Sta.sh page and you will be delivered your prize by the end of the day! It’s that easy!

As in previous years, we will be breaking this event into two days so that all time zones have a fair chance!

THE EVENT WILL RUN Saturday 8TH AND Sunday 9TH both AT 5PM CST!

!! RULES !!

Everyone is limited to one prize!

if you happen to find more than one then please keep the hiding place to yourself! we would like our community to have a fair chance at finding them! If we find out someone has been sharing the location of eggs then we will pass your egg and the shared eggs to the next person, rehide them, or raffle off the design and you may possibly be banned from future events.

The first egg you claim will be the first one you get! If you claim on other eggs you will be given the first one you commented on and the other eggs will go to the following person!

Members who are blacklisted from the species may not participate in our events. This also applies to members we may have had extensive issues with in the past. Your claim will be forfeited and passed to the next person, rehidden or raffled if we see fit.

Members who participated last year may participate again this year!

With that being said, enjoy and we'll see you in the next announcement when the hunt is on!

Sand Bank submission changelog

Hey there everyone, we're putting out a change log update ironing out a few things in the sand bank and myo submission process!

-Current-
In the sand bank we allow pending tidal redesigns of any tier to still be submitted with or without a ml entry present to be submitted for sand dollars as long as it was mentioned they were a pending tidal

!Update!
We are NOT allowing pending tidals of any tier without masterlist entries to be submitted to the sand bank. If it is pending it is considered unofficial and therefore cannot be submitted for sand dollar redemption or use in the discord game channels.

?Why?
There is unfortunately no easy way for us to verify whether or not the design ends up getting cancelled and there would be no sure way for us to be able to remove awarded SD from these submissions because it involves a lot of manual digging with no garentee for varification if it was the same pending design or multiple.

*Middle ground exception for this situation*
Regardless of when art is made for the pending tidal design we will be allowing exceptions over the 30day limit for the art to be submitted to the sand bank so that way use of the design is still allowed and art can still be collected or made during the waiting period! Please just leave a detailed note mentioning the tidal was pending but you are now redeeming the artwork since it's official now!

Next subject is a reminder on pre-existing designs that are being converted into waterdogs or pre-existing designs having a waterdog alternate form since these have been coming up more lately. We require proof of permission from the designer to be provided during the myo submission process granting approval for the Waterdog form, in other words, we need a valid screenshot of the designer giving permission for their design having a waterdog form. if we find out at a later date that a pre-existing design has been turned into a waterdog without permission you will be subject to a strike. Please keep in mind of the designers TOS before turning designs that are not your own into a waterdog!

February Breeding Announcement!

Due to Valentine's Day coming up, the staff have decided to unlimit the subspecies breeding rule as a special event for this month only. This means that you will be allowed to breed any subspecies with any other subspecies for this breeding event. You can breed a dog with a cat, a dog with a big cat or a cat with a big cat!

A few details about how it will work and how we will be taking payments for this event - please make sure you read this information over carefully before claiming a slot:

- You do not have to mis-match the pairings if you don't want to. You can still breed a cat with another cat if you choose to, for example!

- The finished batch will contain a random assortment of the two parents' subspecies if you do choose to use different ones.

- Pre-claims will be done with a downpayment system to keep things fair for everyone (this will be explained in more detail below).

Pre-claim payments will work a little differently this time around because of the limitation being lifted. Because you won't know what type of subspecies you will be choosing right off the bat, you will be given the option to use a downpayment - which means you will pay the pre-claim price for whichever the lowest value subspecies is in your parent pair. You would then cover the rest of the subspecies' pre-claim value upon seeing the finished batch.

As an example, if you choose to breed a big cat and a dog and pre-claim one child from the batch, your downpayment would be $50 upon claiming a breeding slot. If, upon receiving your batch, you decide you would like one of the big cats from that pairing instead, you would simply send the remaining $50 to your artist upon claiming it.

- This ensures an element of fairness between the buyer and safety for your artist. Using the example above, if you provide your downpayment and then cannot cover a big cat payment, you will still be able to claim a pup.

- If you know you will be picking a big cat cub from a mis-matched pair you can absolutely choose to pay the full $100 upfront and do not have to use the downpayment system. This also goes for a kitten.

Besides the changes above, the event will still run the same as any other breeding event. The claiming and raffle system will be the same (except this month it will be a collab) and filling out the forms will also be the same.

We hope you're all as excited as we are about this event and that everyone enjoys seeing the potentially wild combinations from it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask us and we'll try and get back to you as soon as we can.

However this month the raffle-to-pay slot will be a little different to usual! This month, it will be a collab between 3 members of our mod team! (The mixed breeding event also applies to this)

Due to this, the amount of pups/kits/cubs made for this batch will be increased to 6, instead of the regular 5, and whoever gets the slot will be allowed to choose up to 3 preclaims. (This does not apply to the regular breeding)
